We are excited to sponsor Henrike, our first international New Zealand based sponsored rider. Henrike has a deep passion for all things equine, not just in high level dressage competition but also in breeding and equine body work.
Originally from Hamburg, Germany, Henrike moved to New Zealand in 2005 after completing her Master’s degree in Economics. She now resides in Waikato with her husband, Steve, stepson Zac, four dogs, two cats, and 5 horses!
As a full-time equestrian, her primary focus is on dressage, having retired from eventing and showing. Henrike and her husband also breed Hanoverians under the name HSP Hanoverians, and are thrilled to see their first youngsters achieving success in the sport.
Henrike currently has a team of 3 horses. Her standout mare, HSP Soe (imported from Germany) has just finished a fantastic season winning the Horse of the Year 2025 Small Tour Title . Next season she hopes to have a go at Medium Tour.
Her second horse, HSP Raven (also imported from Germany), has been a quiet over achiever and at only 8 years old, she is very excited about her future.
Her youngest horse is Total Hit VP (Totilas x Sandro Hit) who will join her two super mares on the circuit next season.
Henrike has a deep passion for all things equine, particularly their well-being and training. She is a fully qualified Equine Touch body worker and she takes great joy in rewarding her horses for their hard work and ensuring they feel their best.
We are proud to sponsor Henrike and support her passions and values in all aspects of her equine endeavours.
Henrike told us: ‘Rider safety is a topic close to my heart. I have had multiple concussions, including being unconscious for quite some time, and I broke my neck in 2016. On all occasions, my helmet saved my life! I can’t think of a single reason to not wear a helmet, especially since they are now not only functional but also stylish. Whether it’s matt, shiny or sparkly, APK Helmets will have a style to suit everyone!’
